HANDD Business Solutions had a joint run up to InfoSec 2012 tradeshow with a number of their vendors as they had significant representation there. As almost all of their vendors had stands at InfoSec 2012, HANDD were spread amongst them and were thus dotted around Hall 1 of London's Earls' Court.

The star of the managed file transfer domain was surely SSH who had commissioned a media campaign to herald the launch of their exciting new Universal SSH User Key Management Tool. Amongst others, the SSH Sales and Marketing Director Matthew McKenna was present and was assisted by members of the HANDD technical support team including Jonathan Bennetts. HANDD's CEO Anthony Hodges was also a constant presence fielding a barrage of enquiries about the new SSH Key Manager.

HANDD's Senior Technical Consultant Danny Maher was occupied on the Linoma stand where there was running interest in the neat suite of GoAnywhere products for secure file transfer. He was assisted by HANDD's Sales Director Chris Farrelly and also Linoma's founder Bob Luebbe.

Latest arrival in HANDD's portfolio, Attachmate were running a 'spin the wheel' for goodies which prooved a success in attracting attention as it was so noisy. The Attachmate stand was well attended by 3 staff, supported by HANDD's Leo Mullett, Sales Executive and partially by HANDD Marketing Manager Helen Adams.

Other vendors Ipswitch and GlobalSCAPE also had large exhibition stands and were extremely busy.

Back in the office, HANDD Director and CEO Ian Davin who also had enormous success with the DataClassification site at InfoSec, sometimes 5 deep at their stand, is delighted with the company's overall success at the event, estimating that it's the best we've been to, meeting and talking with some extremely influential people in significant organisations from Europe and beyond. Ian sees this as a benchmark and is already thinking about next year - a 'must do' event.

HANDD is the UK's leading independent consultancy on Managed and Secure File Transfer and also SSH User Key Management.

ANNAPOLIS, Md.—March 29, 2012 —South River Technologies, Inc. (SRT), an innovator in managed file transfer and file collaboration software, announced today that it has added High Availability (HA) features to its Cornerstone MFT solution with the release of DMZedge Server version 4.0.
DMZedge Server provides perimeter security for SRT’s Cornerstone MFT and GroupDrive Server products. DMZedge Server reduces the risk of a network intrusion. The new release extends the security and failover capabilities of DMZedge to facilitate HA for the system.
In version 4.0, implementations can now have multiple DMZedge Servers that point to multiple Cornerstone MFT Servers, eliminating a single point of failure. This enables administrators to take either Cornerstone MFT or the DMZedge offline for maintenance without affecting system performance. In addition, multiple paths to access data provide greater throughput, while continuing to offer secure data transfer and perimeter security.
“As an increasing number of our customers are running 24 X 7 operations, it has become more important to eliminate a single point of failure, and provide for individual servers being taken offline without any impact to overall operations,” says Michael Ryan, CEO of South River Technologies.
DMZedge Server version 4.0 is available for immediate delivery.

Managed and Secure File Transfer Specialists HANDD Business Solutions have recently been appointed as UK distributor and reseller for Attachmate Managed and Secure File Transfer Products FileXpress and Reflection for Secure IT.

Attachmate is holding a live Webinar on Attachmate Reflection 2011 – Installation, Migration, Standardisation and Virtualisation

Date and Time: April 3 2012, 15.00h CET

Introduction from Attachmate:

Administrators today are required to do much more with much less. Since most IT departments are managing hundreds or even thousands of applications across the enterprise, applications must be designed to be easy to install, configure and manage.

In this webinar we will take a look at how you can reduce the number of applications you need to manage by standardising on just one emulation package to which you can migrate all your existing session files and macros.

We will also look at how to package Reflection 2011 using Standard MSI techniques and how Reflection 2011 works with Virtualisation Technologies.

We hope that you can join us for this very informative and interesting webinar.

If you want to know how to register for the webinar or know more about about Reflection or to find out about any managed or secure file transfer solutions then contact us on 0845 643 4063 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The modern work environment often requires up to thousands or even tens of thousands of key holders with accesss to valuable information and data through a public and private key holder system. The complex environment makes it almost impossible to manage the 'trust relationship' between individual users, system accounts and application IDs to their destination SSH Servers.

Organisations typically have one or more Identity Management Systems for their users, however, it does not encompass access to all systems and accounts across organisations, nor does it provide visibility into SSH user keys, keys that provide access to your organisation's most sensitive information.

Traditional approaches to managing public and private user keys are time consuming and expensive and there is little or no automation or auditabilty. This makes it difficult to adopt best practice in compliance.

We at HANDD have been working with SSH/Tectia selling and supporting their managed and secure file transfer products and are delighted that they have come up with a solution for user key management.

Today's solution is SSH Communications Security's Universal User Key Management Tool which provides the only true 'enterprise-grade' SSH user key management solution.

This will virtually eliminate manual administration processes that cost time and money, will protect your organisation's reputation by allowing you to know who has access to which SSH servers across your entire network and it will also allow you to meet compliance requirements regarding key security through a single easily-auditable solution.

If you want to read SSH's white paper on their Universal User Key Manager please contact us.

They have a solid reputation for IT innovation and customer satisfaction which have distinguished Attachmate in the marketplace. Attachmate Channel Manager Camille Morgan comments;
“We see this appointment as a strategic step, widening our access to the UK market where there is very attractive growth potential. HANDD File Transfer comes with enormous experience and credibility, combined with a strong foot-hold in the market. We are looking forward to working with HANDD and being part of the growth in the coming years”.

Secure and managed file transfer have seen massive growth over the last few years due to the inherent weaknesses of FTP. Managed file transfer offers complete control and visibility of data as it flows around organisations and between them and their stake-holders. Operational efficacy, data protection and governance mean that data security is more important than ever to divert file leakage disaster.
Barry Davis Regional Sales Director for the UK said ‘We are very excited with signing HANDD in the UK. With Attachmate’s expertise in delivering robust products and HANDD’s extensive knowledge of the MFT market we feel that this partnership will help extend these offerings out to the UK reseller market’
In a recent survey carried out by Attachmate it revealed that numerous companies still use FTP or other legacy data transfer systems, even though 53 per cent of those surveyed realize that these methods do not meet current security standards. Thus, it comes as no surprise that data security is viewed as their greatest challenge.

South River Technologies Announces Cornerstone Version 9 With MailArmour
New Version Offers Comprehensive Security for Email, File Transfer and Data Storage
ANNAPOLIS, MD, Jan 17, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- South River Technologies, Inc. (SRT), an innovator in secure file transfer and file collaboration software, announced today the release of Version 9 of its Cornerstone Managed File Transfer product. Cornerstone secures vital business data while it is stored and transferred, enabling enterprises to gain unprecedented control and visibility of the data flows. Email, file transfers and collaborative activity are secured and managed by the Cornerstone Solution.
Version 9 offers some major new features, including additional protocol support and the release of the new MailArmour module. In addition, the web-based user interface that was previously a separate option, has now been bundled into the base server platform.
The MailArmour module enhances email security. The module is unique in that it encrypts both the body of the email, as well as any email attachments.
