Most people that have attempted to send a company email with a large file attachment will have experienced the pain of the email being rejected or bounced and then phoning IT staff that already have their hands full struggling with increasing email storage costs and email performance issues. Often conscientious employees will find a way of sending the information outside of the company's existing security and compliance measures by burning the information to CDs, DVDs, or similar, therefore creating a security and compliance risk.
