HANDD have today put Rhinosoft’s Serv-U FTP server under the microscope to discover what it’s all about and how it compares to some of the other main players. Rhinosoft on its own site has boldly positioned Serv-U as a rival to big-hitters such as Globalscape and Ipswitch, a claim which we took to the HANDD laboratory for dissection.

Both its perceived competitors are well known in industry circles as the forerunners in the Managed File Transfer (MFT) sphere. Rhinosoft has used its own criteria to compare itself favourably over these two, but rather than go to GlobalSCAPE or Ipswitch for the right to reply, we have used Gartner’s own criteria for judging Managed File Transfer solutions – criteria which Rhinosoft have published on their site, albeit not for the purposes of their rather misleading comparison chart.
