HANDD Business Solutions Signs Up To Add Attachmate ‘FileXpress’ And ‘Reflection For Secure IT’ To Their Secure File Transfer Software Offering
HANDD Business Solutions Ltd, the UK’s leading supplier of software solutions for secure file transfer has this week signed a contract with global manufacturers Attachmate to sell and distribute the ‘FileXpress’ and ‘Reflection for Secure IT’ products for managed file transfer into the UK market.
Attachmate, one of’ The Attachmate Group’s’ four business units (alongside Novell, SUSE and NetIQ) has been in the business of publishing advanced software such as terminal emulation, legacy modernisation, managed file transfer, and enterprise fraud management for 30 years. They have a solid reputation for IT innovation and customer satisfaction which have distinguished Attachmate in the marketplace. Attachmate Channel Manager Camille Morgan comments;
“We see this appointment as a strategic step, widening our access to the UK market where there is very attractive growth potential. HANDD comes with enormous experience and credibility, combined with a strong foot-hold in the market. We are looking forward to working with HANDD and being part of the growth in the coming years”.
HANDD Business Solutions Ltd has been operating in the UK for almost seven years and has built up a large portfolio of clients in the UK and abroad for secure and managed file transfer. Known for being independent consultants they are experts with compliance, governance, security and operational needs that can be met with the right software solutions. Working with the world’s most respected software writers in the managed file transfer field, the addition of Attachmate to their portfolio of prestigious vendors is timely as data protection becomes more important.
Chris Farrelly Sales Director at HANDD commenting on the move:
“We are delighted that Attachmate has recognised our strengths and experience in this market and believe that we have all the resources and expertise to make the most of this exciting partnership. We operate in many verticals and know that the Attachmate state-of-the-art, modular MFT product suite can offer a unique solution to our portfolio. Having analysed a number of the leading players within the MFT market, I feel Attachmate and specifically their FileXpress solution is one of the leading lights in the space. Our raison d'être is to provide our customers with the best solution on the market for their specific needs & requirements. I feel by adding the Attachmate product suite, we have a very rounded and polished Enterprise MFT solution that will ensure our customers continue to have access to the best and most forward-thinking vendors in the Managed File Transfer Market. ”
Secure and managed file transfer have seen massive growth over the last few years due to the inherent weaknesses of FTP. Managed file transfer offers complete control and visibility of data as it flows around organisations and between them and their stake-holders. Operational efficacy, data protection and governance mean that data security is more important than ever to divert file leakage disaster.
Barry Davis Regional Sales Director for the UK said ‘We are very excited with signing HANDD in the UK. With Attachmate’s expertise in delivering robust products and HANDD’s extensive knowledge of the MFT market we feel that this partnership will help extend these offerings out to the UK reseller market’
In a recent survey carried out by Attachmate it revealed that numerous companies still use FTP or other legacy data transfer systems, even though 53 per cent of those surveyed realize that these methods do not meet current security standards. Thus, it comes as no surprise that data security is viewed as their greatest challenge.

South River Technologies Announces Cornerstone Version 9 With MailArmour
New Version Offers Comprehensive Security for Email, File Transfer and Data Storage
ANNAPOLIS, MD, Jan 17, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- South River Technologies, Inc. (SRT), an innovator in secure file transfer and file collaboration software, announced today the release of Version 9 of its Cornerstone Managed File Transfer product. Cornerstone secures vital business data while it is stored and transferred, enabling enterprises to gain unprecedented control and visibility of the data flows. Email, file transfers and collaborative activity are secured and managed by the Cornerstone Solution.
Version 9 offers some major new features, including additional protocol support and the release of the new MailArmour module. In addition, the web-based user interface that was previously a separate option, has now been bundled into the base server platform.
The MailArmour module enhances email security. The module is unique in that it encrypts both the body of the email, as well as any email attachments. In addition to securing the email transfer, MailArmour validates the recipient to assure that confidential email is not inadvertently sent to the wrong person. Approximately 54% of corporate data breaches are caused by employee error. Many are the result of sending to the wrong recipient or adding the wrong attachment.
"It's no longer enough for businesses to simply encrypt their file transfers," said Michael Ryan, co-founder and CEO of South River Technologies. "Securing email closes one of the biggest gaps in data security and facilitates rapid adoption because the impact on the way that users work is minimal."
Cornerstone version 9 also includes support for the WebDAV protocol. WebDAV is a collaborative protocol that can support features like file-locking to prevent data conflicts.
